I got my beer & my candles at Twin Lights Brewing 8/18/24
It’s not a Sunday Funday without candle making!
This past Sunday, we hosted one of our last summer candle-making classes at Twin Lights Brewing in Tinton Falls, NJ!
Twin Lights Brewing is a family-owned brewery that started off as home brewing and grew into a NJ local small business!
Located off of Asbury Ave, Twin Lights Brewing has become a staple in Monmouth County, NJ!
When they reached out to us last year to do a candle-making class, we were MORE than excited to collaborate with them!
Over the last year, we have done about one candle-making class per season with them!
It’s such a fun and exciting atmosphere! We are normally always there on Sunday afternoons! The last few classes we have done run from 12-2 pm, so we are there when they open the brewery until right around when they get their afternoon rush. It’s seriously SUCH a fun time and SUCH a fun crowd!
This particular Sunday, we were due for a stormy Sunday. The storm clouds were rolling in, and I was particularly excited for a stormy Sunday candle-making class.
My mom and I grabbed some cookies from the local bakery, The Pastry Chef, which, by the way, oh my gosh, SUCH amazing cookies. Then we headed over to Twin Lights to set up!
It was a smaller, intimate class this month. August can sometimes be a bit slower with candle classes, as we are close to the beach. If it is a nice day, most people want to be outdoors, which is totally understandable, so 8 people on a Sunday was perfect!
The storm decided to roll right over us! The sun began to peak out of the clouds as the class began!
You can tell that the community that Twin Lights Brewing has grown is very committed to showing up and supporting the brewery. It is not just about beer to them; they have grown a little brewing family!
Twin Lights hosts all types of events throughout the year, from Super Bowl parties to trivia and, of course, candle-making classes! They truly love getting involved in their community, and again, their community loves them!
It was so fun getting to meet some of the regular customers who come into the brewery and participated in the candle-making class. They are very well-acquainted with the brewery itself and the bartenders!
One of the first things we do at all the candle-making classes is jump right into picking out scents! We chatted a bit about how the class would go, then jumped right into scents. This class had no problem picking out the scents they wanted for their candles. We had a class full of people who knew exactly what they wanted!
Since we are moving out of summer and into the fall months, we are slowly moving away from the summer scents like watermelon, piña colada, and other sweet summery scents to slowly transitioning to fall with some cinnamon, blueberry, and hazelnut scents. We won’t totally be moving over to all fall scents until September, but it was apparent that it was a good idea to slowly transition. Almost everyone in the class went with a warmer fall scent! Fall is slowly starting to creep up on us, so sorry to all our summer lovers (cough, cough, me!)
One of my favorite parts of the candle-making classes is truly being inspired by watching everyone get so creative with the label-making process! I love getting to see everyone's personalities come out in their personal labels! It’s so much fun!
Also, in case you were wondering, there were only 2-3 cookies left out of the 1lbs that we brought into the class, so The Pastry Chef cookies were a hit. I highly recommend them if you need to grab some treats for your next dinner party!
We also enjoyed some refreshing hard seltzer from Twin Lights during the class. They actually make seltzer cocktails, which are unbelievable. My mom had the Piña Colada, and I had the hibiscus! Then I also got a lemon hard seltzer, which was so refreshing. As the sun began to come out, it started to get pretty warm as we were packing up to go home, so the seltzer hit the spot!
If you missed this candle class and this blog is giving you a bit of FOMO, don’t worry, we are looking to get back to Twin Lights this fall; we wouldn’t dare to skip a fall candle-making class!
Let us know if you have ever been to Twin Lights Brewing! What is your favorite drink from there?! Have you been to a fun event there?!
